VACCINE FOR HEART ATTACKS



Medical science leaped through the biggest  breakthrough recorded ever by developing a vaccine to combat the most dreaded killer viz, heart attack.



 An antibody that reduces by more than 60 per cent of the physical

scarring of the heart and brain after an attack was ingeniously prepared by a group of dedicated scientists based in

Britain.    They claim that the vaccine can be used to safeguard against strokes and to prevent  the body from attacking

organ transplants as well.

The treatment could have even more of an effect than the cholesterol lowering statins. Heart attacks and strokes are

usually caused by blood flow being blocked.The reason behind can be a clot or a bleed  which starves other  parts of the

body for oxygen leading to permanent damage of the vital organs.

But most of the organ damage is caused later  on. When the circulation gets  eventually restored , the body’s own

defence mechanisms starts  attacking  the oxygen starved cells. This happens  around nine to 12 hours after the attack

or stroke.Consequently, massive inflammation ensues resulting in  permanent damage.

Probably,this happens to be the leading cause of  death.More grave consequences arise when the quality of life of

stroke and heart attack survivors decline to a worst stage.

It is at this juncture that an  injection that stops the body from attacking the oxygen starved cells gains a significant

role. They allow these cells to start  oxygenate normally and  hence the  permanent damage is reduced significantly.

Human trials in this direction  are expected to begin within two years. The amazing feature of the drug lies in the fact

that it can be administered so long after the attack.
